Tobogganning is a fabulous experience for old and young. You can have a romantic tobogganning party under the stars or a day of family fun – everything is possible! A tobogganning party on one of the many natural toboggan runs is not to be missed. The toboggan runs wind their way through picturesque landscapes and past stunning settings. Get to the starting point in comfort with a toboggan taxi, enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many mountain huts and then whiz downhill to finish off the day with a rush! You can savour the end of meal schnapps in peace back at the Grafenwirt.
The ice skating rink at the bottom station of the Flying Mozart Gondola opens every day just after midday. You can rent ice skates for children and adults there. You can even enjoy ice skating in the evening as the ice rink in Wagrain-Kleinarl is fully floodlit. Sound equipment also ensures that you have good musical accompaniment to your winter fun on ice.
Rustic curling in Wagrain-Kleinarl is less of a sporting challenge and more of a relaxed evening among friends. You can measure up to other members of your family or even take part in a guest tournament here at the curling rink. If you don’t know the first thing about curling, then the locals will happily show you the basics. One thing is clear: skill and tactics are indispensable if you want to win!
SNOW SHOE WALKING
Put your snow shoes on, enjoy the untouched nature well away from the pistes and gather some unforgettable impressions of the beautiful landscape. There are various tours at different levels of difficulty on offer. The routes are usually well signposted and are therefore suitable for different levels of fitness. There are more than 20 kilometres of prepared winter walking paths and a multitude of snow shoe walking paths to choose from whether you want a relaxed or a sporty trip into the natural landscape of Wagrain-Kleinarl.
The snow bike guarantees absolute fun on the piste. The combination of biking and skiing opens up a whole new style of downhill. It is easy to learn, also without any experience on skis or a snowboard. Whether you want to glide through fresh powder on off piste slopes or do carving turns on the piste – everything is possible. Steering comes intuitively and after a short introduction you will be making your first turns in the snow.
HORSE DRAWN SLEIGH RIDE
Wrapped in cosy blankets you will glide through the winter landscape on your horse drawn sleigh ride in Wagrain-Kleinarl. You will catch glimpses of picturesque villages, mighty mountain scenery and vast expanses of snow. Whether you want a romantic ride for two, or a fun trip with the whole family – the horse drawn sleigh ride is a real hit on a winter holiday in the province of Salzburg. When you get to your destination, visit the hut and warm yourself up with a tea or punch.
Wagrain-Kleinarl also has something on offer for climbing fans, even in winter. For Alpine Club members and also non-members there is a 180m² climbing wall in the new activity centre of the Wagrain-Kleinarl secondary school. As well as the climbing wall there is a height-adjustable slackline.
